Living Large

Jabez had no control over his painful beginning, but his attitude influenced his future. Like Jabez, there are many issues in our life which we have no control over but we do have the ability to influence our own future.

Jabber was different from all of his brothers and God honored his prayer. He must have had great confidence that God was going to give him that which would truly be a blessing in his life. Our attitude has more to do with our destiny than our relatives do. Therefore we need to have an attitude of faith that believes God for His blessing in our lives.

The blessing of God means that things will flourish in our lives. We need to believe that God will keep His promises regarding us. God blesses us according to who He is, not who we are. The devil wants to oppress our thinking so that we do not have faith to ask God for His blessing. We must have the faith to ask God for His blessing so that we have the ability to change the world.

Jabez was a normal guy with an extraordinary attitude–he believed God was able. We must begin to believe the word of God and pursue His blessing for our lives.
