When Jesus preached and asked His disciples to repent, He was asking them to change the way they think about everything. He was asking them to evaluate everything, all of life, from God’s perspective -- and make decisions accordingly.
As the Elders have prayed about the future of ROL, we have investigated several options:
 
    •    Merging into another church
    •    Inviting a church to merge into us
    •    Inviting several distinct churches to share this building
    •    Hiring a pastor
    •    Selling the property and using the proceeds to start over again
 
By God’s grace, we have come to see that He is asking us to see our situation from His perspective. We understand that we are wonderfully running one leg of a relay race and it has become time to hand off the vision for this neighborhood to those who will run the next leg. We must excellently execute the hand off of the “baton” or much of what has been achieved here will be lost/wasted.
Next Sunday, July 6th, we will meet at 10:30 AM to worship and celebrate God’s good gifts to us for the past 11 years.
The following Sundays, we will meet at 5:00 PM to worship, pray, share, and encourage each other. This will free Sunday mornings for everyone to investigate other fellowships. The Sunday evening meetings will continue until the Elders have done all we can to assist everyone connect with another fellowship.
It is hugely important to execute the handoff excellently! This is our privilege to bless another group who will love our neighborhood and go further than we did. This is the way God accomplishes His vast eternal plans. They transcend generations and individual local churches!
We ask that everyone continue to give tithes and offerings to ROL until they are connected in a new fellowship. These financial resources will serve to pay the mortgage and minimum operational expenses until a full hand off of the property is completed. A CPA will review our books and an accounting will be available upon request. Any funds remaining will be donated to our missionaries and/or those whom the Lord chooses to carry on the vision here.
